Summary

A mystery about a woman searching for the truth around her husband’s disappearance…at any cost。

Before Owen Michaels disappears, he manages to smuggle a note to his beloved wife of one year: Protect her。 Despite her confusion and fear, Hannah Hall knows exactly to whom the note refers: Owen’s sixteen-year-old daughter, Bailey。 Bailey, who lost her mother tragically as a child。 Bailey, who wants absolutely nothing to do with her new stepmother。

As Hannah’s increasingly desperate calls to Owen go unanswered; as the FBI arrests Owen’s boss; as a US Marshal and FBI agents arrive at her Sausalito home unannounced, Hannah quickly realizes her husband isn’t who he said he was。 And that Bailey just may hold the key to figuring out Owen’s true identity—and why he really disappeared。

Hannah and Bailey set out to discover the truth, together。 But as they start putting together the pieces of Owen’s past, they soon realize they are also building a new future。 One neither Hannah nor Bailey could have anticipated。

Fast paced and entertaining until it got too out there, kinda dumb and ended poorly。 It was a “meh” for me。

Could not put this book down。 The story flows in a way that creates a need to know what happens next。 And sadly my only complaint is that it ends that way too … leaving me with a need to know what happens next。 Relatable characters that bind your interest into their wellbeing。

I enjoyed this and didn’t quite know where we would end up by the end。 I did find parts kind of confusing that I hope the tv show clears up but all in all this was a fun family drama and I’m excited to see the tv show。

Very boring book

One of my favorite things about Eight Hundred Grapes was how, even though it wasn’t suspense, Dave managed to leave little cliffhangers at the end of each chapter。 It worked well here too, and I was able to finish this read in 24 hours。 I really felt the relationship between Hannah and Bailey。

After falling in love with the tv series of Daisy Jones and the Six, I cannot wait to see what Hello Sunshine has in store for this book on Apple TV+ starring Jennifer Garner。 A gripping story that you easily attach yourself to! An interesting, action packed, suspense story that had me eager to turn the page!

Enjoyed the twists and turns!

Very compelling book。 A page turner。 It shows the power of a woman's intuition and the strength of motherly love。 I seldom put the book down, but when I did, I found myself thinking about what was going to happen next。 My brain wanted to help solve the problem。 Good reading! I kept hearing about this book, so I borrowed a copy from the library。 I carried it with me everywhere and read every chance I got。 Laura Dave is an amazing writer。 She knows how to tell a story。

Reese's Book Club never disappoints! I listened to the audiobook in a little more than a day。 It's a fast-paced mystery that I didn't want to turn off。 Reese's Book Club never disappoints! com/book/113828 کتاب نسبتا خوبیه。 com/book/113828 。。。more

Fantastic read。 Couldn’t put it down。

This book started off great and had me hooked but I found myself confused and annoyed by every decision Hannah made and the plot became simply too far fetched the longer the book went on and the ending fell short on tying it all back together。

Finished in a few hours- a quick, easy to read mystery that is the perfect book to get you back into reading after a break

3。4 out of 5 stars。 I’m giving it a lower rating than normal, it’s not that I didn’t like this book, but compared to some of the others I’ve read recently, it didn’t wow me enough for 4 or 5 stars。 I enjoyed the plot, though some of it was a little far fetched。 There were some grammatical errors (someone that previously checked this book out at the library wrote corrections in the book which made me laugh), but not enough to where it was hard to read。 It was hard to get into at first though, a s 3。4 out of 5 stars。 I’m giving it a lower rating than normal, it’s not that I didn’t like this book, but compared to some of the others I’ve read recently, it didn’t wow me enough for 4 or 5 stars。 I enjoyed the plot, though some of it was a little far fetched。 There were some grammatical errors (someone that previously checked this book out at the library wrote corrections in the book which made me laugh), but not enough to where it was hard to read。 It was hard to get into at first though, a slow start for me, but as I pushed through it caught my interest more。 I really liked Bailey, and I liked Hannah but honestly I feel like the book shouldn’t have been told from her perspective。 Overall, I don’t regret reading this book and I did enjoy it for the most part, but it didn’t stand out to me too much。 。。。more

I didn’t expect anything from this book at first, maybe that’s why I thought it was very interesting。 But at the end, I feel there are too many missing pieces。 I still don’t understand why Owen had to leave in Austin。 What happened exactly? Also what happened to Avett? Is that really possible no one can fine Owen? But on the other side, I love to see the way Hannah loves Owen。 Even if he lied to her, she still believes him。 Despite all the stuff he dumped to her, she still loves him and take car I didn’t expect anything from this book at first, maybe that’s why I thought it was very interesting。 But at the end, I feel there are too many missing pieces。 I still don’t understand why Owen had to leave in Austin。 What happened exactly? Kept me intrigued but fell flat for me in the end。 Too many things just didn’t quite feel believable and too much felt like it wasn’t fully explained。

It was a sweet story, but it felt so short and simple。 I wasn't surprised by the "twists" at all。 I enjoyed the characters though。 It was a sweet story, but it felt so short and simple。 I wasn't surprised by the "twists" at all。 I enjoyed the characters though。 。。。more

The book kept my attention, but it felt choppy to me。 I also feel like certain plot lines were dropped and it lacked in character development。 Fast read but overall not my favorite。

Some Gone Girl vibes there… but I would rank Gone Girl higher than this book。⭐⭐⭐。Did it bother anyone else that they took off for Austin without any mention of what they did about the duffel bag full of money under the sink? On similar lines, most of the book I felt frustrated that I couldn’t go and look at things myself (Owen’s laptop of pictures of Bailey, the yearbook, a map) until the characters had the idea to do it themselves - usually a couple chapters later。。And, of course, a few places Some Gone Girl vibes there… but I would rank Gone Girl higher than this book。⭐⭐⭐。Did it bother anyone else that they took off for Austin without any mention of what they did about the duffel bag full of money under the sink? It didn’t really get as exciting as the potential lead up would have you believe。 The ending was pretty weak。
